Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 487 seconds

This is the Arthur Baker Dub version of 'Suburbia' by Pet Shop Boys.
It is taken from the 12" US Promo: 'Suburbia: The Arthur Baker Remixes'
I'm not overly keen myself, but it is different.

Heart (Shep Pettibone Dub Mix) - Pet Shop Boys Heart (Shep Pettibone Dub Mix) - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 323 seconds

This is the Shep Pettibone Dub Mix of 'Heart' by Pet Shop Boys, released in 1988.It is taken from the B-side of the 12" Remix of 'Heart'.
And a remix it most definately is. It bears no resemblance at all to the original version.
Good or bad? Decide for yourselves...

Don Juan (demo) - Pet Shop Boys Don Juan (demo) - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 269 seconds

This is the demo version of 'Don Juan' by Pet Shop Boys.
It is taken from the B-side of 12" remix of 'Domino Dancing', and was released in 1988.
I've always loved the line: "King Zog's back from holiday...". Idon't know why, I just like it. I find it querky.

I Want A Dog - Pet Shop Boys I Want A Dog - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 306 seconds

This version of 'I Want A Dog' appeared on the B-side of the single 'Rent', released in 1987. It has a lot more relaxed feel to it, compared to the remixed version on 'Introspective'.
I've always loved the fact that the snare drum is a dog bark...genius.

Disappointed - Electronic (featuring Neil Tennant) Disappointed - Electronic (featuring Neil Tennant)
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 352 seconds

Another collaboration between Neil Tennant (from Pet Shop Boys) and Electronic (Bernard Sumner and Johhny Marr).
This is what you get when three of musics best songwriters get together...pure class!

The Man Who Has Everything - Pet Shop Boys The Man Who Has Everything - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 368 seconds

The Man Who Has Everything is a fantastic track taken from the limited edition bonus album 'Relentless' which was released in 1993, bundled with the 'Very' album.
The album came in a great, clear plastic 'bubbled' sleave (a bit like bubble wrap) which I always thought looked rather cool...

We Came from Outer Space - Pet Shop Boys We Came from Outer Space - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 331 seconds

Another great track from the 'Relentless' album.
Sorry it's taken so long to post the final 2 tracks (having babies takes up so much of your spare time!), but hopefully you find it worth the wait.
Personally, I like this album more now than I did back in 1993 when it was originally released.

We All Feel Better In The Dark [extended mix] - Pet Shop Boys We All Feel Better In The Dark [extended mix] - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 404 seconds

This is the extended version of 'We All Feel Better In The Dark' by Pet Shop Boys. It's taken from the B-side of the 12" version of 'Being Boring' - released in 1990. And bloody brilliant it is too...

Tonight is Forever - Pet Shop Boys. Tonight is Forever - Pet Shop Boys.
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 279 seconds

Probably my favourite song from the 'Please' album (apart from West End Girls) which was released in 1986. This was, and still is in my opinion, one of the best records ever put out by Pet Shop Boys.
Brilliant!

Hit and Miss - Pet Shop Boys Hit and Miss - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 254 seconds

Another great track, hidden away as a B-side. This one was on the reverse of 'Before'. In my opinion it should have been the A-side! Terrific.

Forever in Love - Pet Shop Boys Forever in Love - Pet Shop Boys

Video duration: 386 seconds

'Forever in Love' by Pet Shop Boys. Another great track from the 'Relentless' album.

KDX 125 - Pet Shop Boys KDX 125 - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 392 seconds

This track is called 'K D X 1 2 5 ' by Pet Shop Boys. It is taken from the 'bonus' album 'Relentless', which came bundled with the limited edition version of the 'Very' album. Six very dancey type tracks.

West End Girls [Dance Mix] - Pet Shop Boys West End Girls [Dance Mix] - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 397 seconds

This is the 12" Dance Mix of 'West End Girls' by Pet Shop Boys. The track was produced by Stephen Hague and remixed by the Boys themselves (along with Frank Roszak). This was the first ever 12" record I bought and this particular mix has always been my favourite version of West End Girls. I played it to death in 1985 and it still gets to me now, nearly 25 years later. Pure class.

I Wouldn\ I Wouldn't Normally... [Wild Dub Pitch] - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 473 seconds

This is the 'Wild Dub Pitch' mix of 'I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind of Thing' by Pet Shop Boys (released in 1993). The remix is by DJ Pierre. It's very different from the 'pop' style of the single release. I find it quite hypnotic...

Go West [Second Movement] - Pet Shop Boys Go West [Second Movement] - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 330 seconds

This is an edited version of 'Go West (Mings Gone West: First and Second Movement)' by Pet Shop Boys (released in 1993). This remix is by Brothers in Rhythm. I've edited it down to just the second half of the track because the full track is very long (nearly 11 minutes) and the first half is pretty much the standard version of the song. The part you're listening to is where it gets interesting...

In The Night [Original 1985 version] - Pet Shop Boys In The Night [Original 1985 version] - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 298 seconds

This is the original version of 'In The Night' by Pet Shop Boys which is taken from the B-side of the 1985 release of 'Opportunities' (which was the Pet Shop Boys first release on signing with Parolophone Records). It has a darker, fatter sound I think, compared to the re-worked version which was on 'Disco'. Both are very good though.

Heart [Shep Pettibone version] - Pet Shop Boys Heart [Shep Pettibone version] - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 260 seconds

The Shep Pettibone version of 'Heart' by Pet Shop Boys. Taken from the Further Listening CD on the re-mastered release of 'Actually'.

I Want To Wake Up [Breakdown Mix] - Pet Shop Boys I Want To Wake Up [Breakdown Mix] - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 359 seconds

This is the wonderful Breakdown Mix of 'I Want To Wake Up' by Pet Shop Boys. It was taken from the Further Listening CD when 'Actually' was re-mastered. A truly great song. I adore their early work and this song was the stand out track for me the first time I played 'Actually'. Fabulous.

Miserablism [Moby electro mix] - Pet Shop Boys Miserablism [Moby electro mix] - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 343 seconds

The Moby electro mix of 'Miserablism', taken from the B-side of the 12" version of 'Was it worth it?'. Very chilled...

Can You Forgive Her? [Rollo Dub] - Pet Shop Boys Can You Forgive Her? [Rollo Dub] - Pet Shop Boys

Video duration: 299 seconds

This is the 'Rollo Dub' mix of Can You Forgive Her? released in 1993.

Absolutely Fabulous (Rollo Our Tribe Mix) - Pet Shop Boys Absolutely Fabulous (Rollo Our Tribe Mix) - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 385 seconds

This is the Rollo Our Tribe Tongue-in-cheek Mix, taken from the appallingly bad 'Disco 2' album. I've had to edit the intro and ending to make it play as a stand-alone track (due to the mix nature of Disco 2).

The Boy Who Couldn\ The Boy Who Couldn't Keep His Clothes On - Pet Shop Boys
Posted by: soundoftheatom

Video duration: 372 seconds

This song was taken from CD 2 of the limited edition version of Bilingual. And very good it is too.
