You should try and mix things up so that the dog has to think and use his head. The dog must pay attention to whatever hand signal you are giving him as to what direction he should go in. Other commands are mixed in here as well.

Use them as markers and placeboards, and rolling them will also keep their enthusiasm high, and their chance of injury down. Especially good for people like me that can't throw very well!

I am also practicing with the dog entering the tunnel from an angle. Be as imaginative as you can with your training, it will make it fun and exciting for both you and the dog.
