Ozzy African Grey Parrot Enjoying Mashed Potatoes Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 37 seconds Once in awhile I give Ozzy some warm mashed potatoes as a treat. He gobbles them up in his beak with a chugging motion. I just think it is hilarious! I've been trying to get it on video for a long time and tonight I was successful. |

Senegal Nail and Beak Trimming Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 197 seconds Sammy is seen here getting his beak and nails groomed by my awesome groomer, Brandi. She is a mobile bird groomer and is excellent. I don't know what I'd do without her. Today she did 15 of my birds. Thanks Brandi |

Oops! I crapped my pants! Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 78 seconds My African Grey, Ozzy, lets us know when he has "pooped" by making this announcement. In this video he is playing, then he stops when the urge hits him, and goes to the proper place for poop elimination. His announcement comes at about the one minute mark. |

Cockatiel Aviary Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 173 seconds This is my cockatiel aviary that currently holds 18 rescued birds from various situations. Some came in together, some individually, some were found, others had life threatening injuries and were nursed back to health. Each one has a story. The life span of one of these birds is 15-20 years. Something to keep in mind when selecting a pet bird. ;) |

Blues on the corner Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 171 seconds My brother offered to teach a few tips on how to play the blues to a guy who was really more of a rocker. It was a fun way to spend some time on a lazy Sunday afternoon in a small mid-west town. Sometimes the simple things are the most enjoyable things to do. |

Ozzy asks for Head Scratch Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 47 seconds I taught Ozzy months ago to say beak when I touch his beak. He loves to do that. Recently he learned how to say Head Scratch, and he knows what it means. If I am doing something with him and he'd rather not participate, then he asks for a head scratch to distract me. Pretty smart, huh? |

Dropping Announcement Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 18 seconds Did you ever see the Saturday Night Live fake commercial for the competition to Depends? The product was called, "Oops! I crapped my pants!" We thought that it would be fun to teach Ozzy to announce when he was getting ready to drop one of his "bombs" by using that line. He finally got it! |

Senegal hiding place Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 83 seconds This is OJ's favorite spot to play. He lies on his back and uses the bars of the grill on the playstand to scoot along. He then proceeds to rip up the paper that is on the grid. Once spotted there he will come out and protect it with a menacing act and a loud scream. It is pretty cute. The talking in the background it my Grey, Ozzy. |

JoJo's Fluffy Bird Routine Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 32 seconds JoJo protects his drawer from intruders by striking this pose so he looks very threatening. I really believe that Senegals are of the notion that they are really macaw size birds. They sure do act tough for such little guys. JoJo treats this drawer as his own little house, or nest box. Pretty funny little guy! |

Exploding Playground Ball Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 129 seconds Ian and his brother decided to see just how much air a playground ball can take before it pops. It is pretty amazing just how long it lasted. |

Video duration: 130 seconds This aviary contains all untame parakeets that people have surrendered to our rescue. Here they are able to live out their lives in one large flock. They are an extremely happy group and welcome in newcomers without incident. They are a joy to watch as they play and flutter around their environment. |

Lolly's new Sphere swing Posted by: sootykitty
Video duration: 66 seconds My mom bought this swing for Lolly and he took to it immediately! When I brought it home and was taking it out of the clear plastic bag he could hardly contain himself. Once I placed in on his tree he was hooked. He kept getting on and off all night. It is the new favorite thing! |
